28/1-10 A long
time since the last update but we've had computer problems. All is well here - Penny is due in 3 months, which we're looking forward too. Kitty is in training
for the coming season as well as Hmstd Captains Cream Soda who is staying here for a couple of months preparing for some showing in spring.
Ceazar is growing and so is Pharazon, whom we visited a couple of weeks ago. We're still very pleased with our 2009 foals.
8/9 A late update - we're sorry about that but time seems to fly to fast sometimes.
Anyway - things went great at the Swedish Morgan Horse Show! Kitty was selected best mare with foal, Penny did a good free jumping test. Penny's sons were doing great
all weekend - Copper Coin was selected Best In Show 3rd year in a row!
Our lovely colt Pharazôn scored 9 for trot by the Swedish judge and dear Ceazar was selected best foal with 9 for type by the American judge Susan Martin whom we're
happy to have met.
Soon it's time for Pharazôn to move to his new home, he will be missed.
11/7 Some pictures from American Days in Malmoe City last
weekend can be seen further down. A total of 8 morgans were shown during these 3 days.
In less than two weeks our National Morgan Horse Show will be held. We have participants coming as far as
Belgium. Perhaps you would like to join us as well? Just contact me for further details. We'd love to see you there!!
Penny is still in foal to Justin Isterics, checked at 32 days.
1/7 Spring of 2010 is when our next Morgan foal will be born - Tronshagens
Penny is confirmed in foal with Justin Isterics on the first try! Seven is my lucky number - will Penny's 7th foal be a filly?
Kitty and her son are having a nice time in the fields. We've added some pictures of Ceazar on his own page, as well as
a video. He is developing very well, we are extremely pleased with this boy and can't wait to see his movements develop. He has recently learnt how to use his legs for
trotting...
Penny and her son will be
representing the breed at Jägersro this weekend in an event called "An American Weekend".
Last Saturday we had Pharazôn's new owners to visit, Linda and Tony. Don't worry - time flies fast and
soon you'll get your new family member home.
All of the horses will be shown at the Swedish National Morgan Horse Show 24-26 of July - we'll see you there!
18/6 Escania's Commencement was born at 2.10 am yesterday morning. He is a wellbuilt colt with
a beautiful head. All is well with mother Kitty and her son that she is very proud of.
More pictures will follow as he unfolds.
3/5 We would like to announce the sale of Escania's Pharazôn LT. His new owner Linda will be enjoying Pharazôn as her future dressage prospect.
She has been looking for a suitable palomino for a long time, different breeds both in Sweden and Denmark and we are very pleased that Linda decided that our flashy
Morgan colt fits her high expectations. She had never heard about Morgans before meeting Penny and Pharazôn but she is very happy with her choice and we will be
seeing her at the Riks this summer.
Penny will be dating Justin Isterics this spring. More info under horses.
17/4 Congratulations on your 5th birthday, Kitty and welcome to the world Escania's
Pharazôn LT!
Pharazôn was born at 2 this morning and he and his proud mother Penny are doing very well. Pharazôn will soon get his own page on our site.
13/3 Just a couple of more weeks to go for our dear Penny. It
seems like this final waiting is the longest?!
This winter we've had a couple of friends coming to visit us and our beloved Morgans - Denise, former class mate has descovered the Morgan Horse and will most certainly
get her own in the future. It will be interesting to follow her search for the right one.
Jessica, who owns Kitty's brother Goldget Sunshine has also been visiting and took some nice riding
pictures of us.
We've also had Sara here, taking a couple of lessons in Western Riding and round-pen working.
Now, Kitty is out of training for a while, focusing on the last time in the pregnancy. She
thinks it's quite heavy, but Penny is enjoying it - she knows exactly what's coming!
Penny's son Lyckänge Copper Coin was selected the Morgan Horse of the Year 2008, voted by the members of SMHF. Congratulations!
27/11 On Saturday, Kitty and I were training for Anders Josefsson. We were working with the snaffle bit with shanks for the second time (I tried
it on once this summer just to see how she would react but since I'm not used to riding with shanks I didn't want to get anything wrong from the beginning so
I wanted to do it with Anders help) and it went very very well. She seems most certainly ready for it and I also felt, with Anders help, that we will improve with it
since I (who's passionte about dressage as well) help my horse too much. Anders said - "Now she should learn to be able to do the work herself, you can't help her
all the time". I felt like a baby sitter. ;) He also likes her workability, that she has matured so much in her mind and thinks she moves good..
On Sunday we had
the photo shoot of the annual Christmas card (since we -
for once in a while have snow BEFORE Christmas this year) so here's just one of them.
16/11 The girls are getting bigger and bigger. Pennys foal is the size of a beagle and Kitty's not bigger than a kitten. It's
interesting to follow their moods in the pregnancy, Penny is THE MOTHER SHIP - don't come close and most certainly - don't come in my way if you're a horse. If you are
human; give me food, I need lots of food, I'm having a baby.
Kitty is still ridden and she just gets hotter and hotter. We've started to train her for her extra gait a bit and she does well.
This Friday, we had another Sara on visit. She wanted to know more about Morgans and Western Riding so we cuddled horses, talked and Sara also rode Kitty. I hope
Kitty manage to make Sara wanting to come back another day, when there's better weather!
I took some pictures of them:
19/10 Kitty debutated in
Reining yesterday at WHAO's Autumn Show at Bökeberg and it went fine. She did good and Sara remembered the pattern - which was the greatest challenge..!
Helén van den Born (www.tullesbo.com) took some nice pictures of us and they can be seen on Kitty's page.
5/10 Kitty is home, loving it and both Kitty and Penny has moved to a new stable with lovely pastures full of hills so this winter they're
gonna build a lot of muscles!
27/8 Sara had some days off and went
to visit Näsudden. Kitty was looking great and she really enjoyed staying there. Thanks Anneli!
The view from "my " cottage.
Best friends Breakie and Kitty. Adorable puppies!!
The Charolais bull Sture was going to be moved into a new field with new girls.
Kitty and Breakie.
My favourite girl. Lucy is by Red Commander x BMF Pride 'n Joy.
Looking forward to see our Commander baby next year!
13/8 Sara
won't be moving, she got in to another nursing school nearby so for the moment she stays in Genarp.
Kitty is pregnant with Red Commander! We're very happy and look forward to her first foal, which also may be Commander's first colored one. Read more about this
cross at the Horses's page. Kitty at Näsudden. Photo: Anneli Sätter-Wangenfors.
24/7 Things are changing at Escania... Sara is starting Nursing School in
the end of August so she will be moving closer to school and takes both of the mares with her. Kitty has been bred to Red Commander two times this week and they seem to
like each other so lets hope for a fabulous foal next year. Commander's offspring was outstanding at the Swedish Show!
You will find results from the Show under each horse.
Congratulations to Lyckänge Copper Coin, Penny's son, who won the Best In Show title for the second year in a row!
10/7 A lot of things are happening
all the time and here's a few things from the past and coming days.. Next weekend the Annual Swedish Morgan Horse Show is held at Kvinnersta in Örebro and both
Kitty and Penny will come with us.
After the Show, Kitty will be heading up for a date with Red Commander at Näsudden in Skinnskatteberg. We hope for a
lovely foal next year..
Last Friday Region Syd showed the Morgan Horse among other American Breeds at Jägersro. You'll find nice pictures taken by Sandra Henriksson here: www.meadowmint.se/jagersro.htm
We had a great time, I hope that shows!
Diana Jasica from Belgium visited us this Sunday, she was at World Dog Show in Stockholm and also visited several Morgan owners. Thanks for the visit!
29/5 Penny is
ultra-sounded and confirmed in foal! It was a big and beautiful embryo, 13 days old.
We keep all our fingers crossed for the first Morgan foal to be born at Escania in April next year.
The coming foal, which is a guaranteed palomino, may be booked in utero.
Please contact us for more information.
14/5 "An American Day at the Races" will be held on 4th July at Jägersro Racing.
The Morganhorse will be represented by horses from Escania and Idets. SMHF has a 25-years jubilee as a Breed Association this year so we'll give that some attention as
well. If you wanna see America's first breed, please join us there. This is something you can't miss!
We've put some new pics at Dan's, Penny's and Kitty's pages. Picture: Dan shows Alexandra's friends that he has learned to bow. At Alexandra's birthday 9th May!
3/5 We have competed, Kitty and I! We took a 2nd place in W.P
Senior and W. Riding. It was the first time that we participated in these classes, so we are more than satisfied.
Penny has been bred to Soda now and will be check within a week. Hopefully there's a filly in her stomach.
We're still waiting for Kitty to be inseminated. She is in heat now but perhaps we will wait until her next heat. We'll see.
10/4 We've been doing a
lot of things lately. We have been att Greavagården to watch the stallion evaluations, we have visited Tullesbo Haley - he's bold, he's beautiful and his movements
are outstanding. We are more than pleased that one of our planned foals will be sired by this lovely guy. We have also been training Kitty and Penny with Anders
Josefsson and that went really well. New pics of the girls at their pages. We've also started to train Dan a bit, and he's behaving like most teenagers - brave and
curious and at the moment he's extremely handsome as well.
Pictured is Sara and Haley. Photo: Sandra Henriksson, Meadow Mint.
16/3 Yesterday we arranged a
round-pen clinic for the members of SMHF Region Syd with Christine Pamp. All of us really enjoyed it so we'll probably do it again soon. Participants were Annika and
Dan, Sara and Penny, Sandra and Soda from Meadow Mint and Jessica from Nybro who got to borrow Kitty. Two mothers were also there to give some support. We had four very
different horses so it was rather interesting to solve our problems with them as we had different solutions to use. Main issue was that with our body languange we had to
make the horses understand that we were their safest place to be around. Kitty and Jessica Elofsson listens carefully to
Christine Penny and Sara are kissing in the sun Dan is trying to play fetch with Christine's whip Soda decides that Sandra is the
safest place to be

Escania Morgans' planned breedings 2008:
Tullesbo Haley
+ Goldget Kitty (Charlestown Supersonic x Falkas
Amalia) (SC Island
Centavo x Treasure Golddust)
We look forward to this dream cross very much as we feel this will be a great combination. Both of them has a nice conformation and very very good movements. Foal should
be outstanding, with lovely disposition, a lot of knees and good selfcarriage. Since Kitty is homozygous for black, we are pretty sure that the foal won't be chestnut.
It might be colorful though.
Hmstd Captains Cream Soda + Tronshagens
Penny (Hmstd Rum Runner x Two J Miss
Miriah)
Hanover Super Dan x Greentree Night 'n Day)
Penny is a great broodmare so when we were going to select a stallion, it was rather hard to find the most suitable for her. We think we made the right choice. Soda is a
young man with a lovely disposition and great movements. Conformationwise he is very promising and we also want to have his mother's bloodlines in our breeding program.
100% guaranteed palomino from this cross.
11/1 We have high expectations for
2008, with two mares to be bred and many events to look forward to. We will also put our girls in harness this spring and do some driving in the surroundings. Kitty and
Penny are both resting for the moment. Kitty needs it since she's worked well this fall. Penny rests because I haven't had much time these two weeks and when I've had
time - the weather has been too bad.
Tomorrow Annika moves the new house, so we've changed her contact information. A fresh update to start the new year with is also done.
New pictures are added at Kitty's site. Don't forget to watch these videos as they are very good advertising for the Morgan breed.
The Morgan Horse - America's first breed
What can a Morgan Horse do?
24/12 Thank you for a fantastic 2007. We're looking forward to
2008!!
9/12 Big Congrats to our sister Sofia who turns 15 today!
I've just come home from Näsuddens Morgans in Skinnskatteberg, where I've participated in a meeting. It was also very interesting to see Anneli's horses, as well as
Kurrboda's. My favourite is Näsuddens Heartbreaker, reserv BiS at Riks -07.
Here's another sister, Alexandra - this might be the Christmas Card of the year. It's too rainy and muddy to take any good pictures of the horses at the
moment..
28/11 Everything is as usual here, expect for a few things. Dan's and Kitty's
best pal Anasarka (a SWB filly owned by Västgård AB) has moved for a while. She is now under training to be broke to ride at Sandra Sterntorp's Dressage Stable
in Landskrona. Sandra is one of the most talented Swedish riders so we're sure that Anna will have lots of fun and lots to learn. She will be back in a few weeks but we
miss her. With her almost 170cm height she's sure to be noticed in the stable.
Penny's training is progressing, she has been ridden by Sara a couple of times now and both of them have fun.
Kitty's is growing at the moment, but she is also trained lightly and she's improving every time - good girl! Dan has been lunged for the first time and did great. He
has a hard time in the pasture now that Anna has left - Kitty watches him with her hawk eyes and doesn't allow any teenage bullshit from him at all.
4/11 Today was a lovely day. After the heavy raining this Monday I was sure that the Swedish Winter had arrived, which means wet
and wet and cold and wet. Thank godness, I was wrong!
Penny was lunged for the first time here today. Pictures have been added in her gallry. She is a lovely girl. It's sad that she isn't younger. Here are some fall
pictures that I (Sara) captured today. Enjoy!
1/11 Wow, lots of things have
happend since last time we updated. First of all we would like to congratulate Jessica Elofsson in Nybro who yesterday got her new Morgan gelding home. He has travelled
all the way from South Germany and Markus Gärtner. Congratulations to you, Jessica. I'm sure that the eye-catching Perlino-boy Goldget Sunshine (SC Island Centavo x
Treasure Golddust) will make you very proud.
Secondly, Annika has bought herself an excellent early Christmas-present; a little farm! Luckily, it's not
very far from Sara so now we are looking forward to put up the big ESCANIA MORGANS sign at the gates. I'm sure the neighbours are gonna wonder what kind of crazy people
we are then...
This weekend Sara and Kitty participated in a clinic with one of Sweden's (and Europe's) Top-Reiners, Anders Josefsson. We also had a great time on the Saturday evening
when all of us involved ate dinner together. I was happy with the way Anders train horses and we will definitely do it again. We got some good exercises to practice on
too, which will help her to put her back under herself even more.
We have also added a couple of new pics at Penny's page. We are already very fond of her and look forward to our future together.
11/10 We have some big news!
A new mare has been purchased and will be a great addition to our breeding program. Check her out at the horses' page.
This weekend we were competing with Kitty. She did so well. When she's good, she truly is amazing! We were competing against two 5-year-old quarters in the Western
Pleasure Junior and Kitty actually managed to be placed as number 2!
Kitty's breeder Markus Gärtner came all the way from Germany to watch us. He haven't seen her since she left for Sweden last year. I think he was quite pleased with
what he saw; a beautiful morgan who's always trying to do her best.
5/10 We have made a photogallery at the horses' pages. Have a peek!
Last weekend we had some visitors; Diana Jasica from Off Border Hill Morgans, Belgium and Sandra Henriksson from Meadow Mint in Simrishamn. They had a ride on wonderful
Kitty and also enjoyed watching lovely Dan moving around in the pasture. We were also visiting Susanne Carlsson at Frostorp Morgans in Läckeby. Thanks Susanne for
letting us into your stable to enjoy your horses! While we were in the neighborhood we visited the Elofsson sisters in Nybro, who owns a 3-year-old morgan gelding and
soon they will have another morgan in their stable, but we'll get back to that..
Here's Diana and Sandra on Kitty.
28/9 He's home! Finally we have Dan here and all has gone very well.
Dan settled immediately and started to eat with no fuss. He loves having a nice brush and itch and if you happen to pass him by, he very much likes to give you a big
kiss. His new friend Anna was a bit scary - she sooo BIG, but Dan decided that all of the mares at the farm belongs to him...
We also got some pictures from Thomas and Åsa, which shows Star enjoying his new life! Thanks for sharing!
23/9 We got a couple of nice pictures in the mailbox the other day.
They show Kitty's full brother Goldget Sunshine, a 2-year-old stallion who's maturing extremely nice (and who's very alike to Kitty). He's still in Germany with the
breeder Markus Gärtner.
15/9 Yesterday was quite a sad day for us. Golden Star left us to go to his new home with
Thomas Christensen and Åsa Gunnarsson in Billinge. Thomas and Åsa has recently moved to a farm and Star will enjoy the company of the standardbred Bosse and he
will also enjoy spending his days out as much as he like, because Thomas and Åsa have a shelter where the horses can come and go as they like. We wish Thomas and
Star a lovely life together - You have bought yourself a lovely horse and we're happy that Star picked you to be his new owner!
13/9 Yihaa! The weekend of 6-10 September, Sara and 8 other Swedish Morgan Owners went to England. We headed the car towards
Hartpury College to enjoy the European Championships for Morgan Horses. Well, there were just British horses, put perhaps in a few years the Swedes can come over and
give the English riders a match? We saw many excellent horses, worth to mention among all of them are Monnington Overture and Charlestown Supersonic. Overture was a
fantastic stallion with superb willingness and he was shown very well ridden. Sonic was just shown in harness, but he did it great! We also got to see a number of Sonic
progeny who all showed the same great attitude to work and excellent movements.
Pictures below are taken by Sandra Henriksson at Meadow Mint and they show Overture ridden by Monnington's owner Angela Bulmer, and Sara with lovely Supersonic.
29/8 There is a new short video of Kitty - check under "Horses". Soon there will be a video of Dan as well. New pictures are added at
Kitty's page as well.
26/8 Sometimes life doesn't turn
out the way you want it too. This breeding season has been such. We take it as it is and don't mourn too much. We decided that Kitty really don't want to be a mother
yet, she wants to be worked with instead, so we'll educate her some more this winter and will start next year's breeding season in April instead. The reason why we
wanted to wait a while this year was that we wanted to show her at the Swedish Morgan Show before we tried to breed her, so the season went kind of late. Learning by
doing as they say. We are hugely thankful to the people we have around us - dear and encouraging friends, lovely stallion owners and a supportive family. Thanks to
all!!!
15/8 There are some new pics
updated at Dan's page.
We also let the fullsisters Kitty and Sissey meet again yesterday a short while
- for the first time since they were imported from Germany last fall. Guess who's who?! Lovely girls, Sissey is a bit taller than Kitty at the moment. Picture taken by
Sandra Henriksson of Meadow Mint Morgans, also proud owner of Sissey.
22/7 Result and some pictures
from the Swedish Morgan Horse Show in Sätila is updated at the horses' pages. More pics to follow as soon as we've received them from the photographers. We are so
pleased and proud of our beloved morgans!
1/7 New pictures again! I was at
Ranch Horse Classic this weekend and got inspired. Here we inaugurate Kitty's
new bridle and my hat...
14/6 We had a photo session with Sara
and Kitty a few days ago. Click here to watch the pictures.
12/6 A baby has arrived! Kitty is proud sister and Dan is proud brother to Tullesbo Cruzado
Correll aka "Rocky".
Dad is SC Island Centavo and mom is Tronshagens Penny. As you can guess, Dan and Kitty are not related, but crossing their parents has turned out to be a very successful
match. Rocky is for sale so check him out at www.tullesbo.com - this is a foal you can't miss!
10/5 We have been competing in Western Pleasure and Showmanship at halter. No results to brag about, but a great experience for Kitty and
Sara - they learnt a lot! And we had the best cheerleaders in the arena. It's vacation for some time ahead, but we look forward to the annual Swedish Morgan Horse Show,
which will be held in Gothemburg 13-15 July. Hope to see you there!
Danny Boy has been gelded and we hope he'll forgive us for that. It's just the best thing to do for both him and us.
20/4
We welcome Tullesbo Dan Hawkins to the family! Annika and Alexandra are hoping that Dan will be their outstanding competition partner in the future (as well as
a great friend).
Discipline hasn't been decided yet, but why choose - it's a morgan...
Read more about Dan here.
5/4-07 Kitty + Haley = foal 2008? This summer, Kitty will be travelling to Maria
Bruckshaw at Slättered to have a date with Tullesbo Haley. We are very anxious to see what this cross will produce. Foal will be for sale...
...Perhaps...
27/3-07 It's been quite a while since we updated our news and that's because
nothing exciting has happend. But spring is finally here so we'll be having a lot of fun in upcoming months. Check back for results from our local western
club's spring show, where Kitty will be participating in Showmanship at halter and, if I have the guts, Amateur Western Pleasure.
6/2-07
Goldget Kitty's coat colour has been tested and she is EEaaCrcr - The first smoky black morgan in Sweden. We
have also been trailriding again this Saturday and found out that Kitty is Gaited (most likely, she's foxtrotting)!
7/1-07
We took a trip to the forest today for the first time and it went sooo well.
A tired Kitty and a tired Sara walked home slowly after I had gotten off her.
New pictures updated here.
15/12-06 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from us!
5/9-06 Goldget
Kitty has been imported to Sweden!
